Within the scope of "Conference Days" prepared by Çankırı Karatekin University Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Application and Research Center, the conference named "Women Wrestlers in the Context of Gender Conference with Assoc. Prof. Nursel Uyanıker, Ph.D." was held on 13.05.2022 with the wide participation.
In her speech, Mrs. Uyanıker talked about traditional Turkish sports after clarifying the concepts of biological sex and social and cultural roles. In her speech which she devoted a large place to the importance of women in traditional ancestor sports in Turkish culture, Uyanıker problematized the position of women in wrestling over time through many written texts and compilations.
The speech of Uyanıker, who made remarkable determinations and suggested solutions to the problems of female wrestlers in the spiral of sexism, ended with a question and answer section and good wishes.
